More About Me

I'm a Senior UX Designer with six years of experience designing B2B and B2G products.

But before any of that, I was a kid who didn't quite fit in anywhere.

Growing up as a Korean American across the US, Seoul, and Singapore, I was always the person who was from somewhere else. Language, culture, context, there was always a gap between me and the people around me. What closed that gap, more often than anything else, was art. Painting, sculpture, making things with my hands. It didn't require shared vocabulary. It just required attention and presence, and somehow that was enough to connect.

That experience quietly shaped everything that came after. When I discovered visual communication as a field of study, it felt like the most natural thing in the world. The idea that visuals could do what words sometimes can't, that design could help people feel understood without needing to explain themselves. I've been chasing that idea ever since.

What keeps me motivated in the work is knowing who I'm designing for. When the end user is clear, a provider navigating a healthcare portal, a patient looking for coverage information, a family searching for help at a difficult moment, I find I can design with a lot more intention and care. That clarity of purpose is what I look for in the work I take on.

I don't know exactly what shape my career will take from here. But I want the things I design to be genuinely useful to someone. And as long as that's the goal, I'll keep learning, keep putting myself in new environments, and keep finding ways to close the gap.

I’d love to connect!
